Normal Conditions

Sand Bags Available

Due to the potential for heavy rains expected this week as well as an already saturated soil, it is advised that residents in flood-prone areas prepare for more runoff flooding. The City of Palmview will be issuing sandbags for the use by City residents. The sandbags are available from 1 pm to 7 pm at the locations below. There is no staff at the locations. Residents should bring their own shovels and be prepared their own sandbags and load them into their vehicles. Proof of Palmview Residency will be Required. A Photo ID and Utility Bill will be required.

Roll Off Dumpsters

To assist the community in the disposal of items damaged by flooding, the City of Palmview is making available dedicated waste containers in the following locations:

  • City Hall
  • Precinct 3 Offices (Across Irene Garcia Middle School)
  • Tree Limbs
  • Srubs
  • Grass
  • Leaves
  • Furniture
  • Sofa
  • Chairs
  • Mattress
  • Washer / Dryer
  • Water Heater
  • Stove

Emergency Management Phases

The Palmview Emergency Management Plan follows four emergency management phases. These phases are designated by municipal officials in response to an emergency, and are updated as needed during an event. When an emergency is eliminated, the City remains a the Mitigation Phase.
