Increased Patrols for Labor Day

PALMVIEW, Texas-Far too many people have lost their lives on Texas roadways that’s why Palmview Police has joined law enforcement agencies from across the Rio Grande Valley to remind drivers that drinking and driving don’t mix.

Starting today, August 16 through September 2, 2024, residents and visitors to Palmview can expect to see more police patrolling roadways in the city.  The officers will be looking for traffic law violators and drunk drivers.

Palmview PD reminds the community that driving is a big responsibility that should be taken seriously because the consequences could be costly and deadly.  Driving under the influence comes with potential fines of up to $2,000 and up to 180 days in jail.

In addition, Palmview PD reminds all drivers to ensure everyone in their vehicle is buckled up and that children are in the appropriate booster or seat.

So, this Labor Day honor the nation’s workers for their contributions to the country’s well-being by being a responsible driver. Together we can #endtheStreak.
