Spraying Map by Zone

PALMVIEW, Texas-The City of Palmview will begin spraying for mosquitoes today to help reduce adult mosquitoes becoming a nuisance after the recent rains. City staff already treated standing water around the city to eliminate mosquito larvae and pupae before they grow into biting adult mosquitoes.

The spraying will be done by zone as shown in the map below.

Zone 3 will be sprayed on Tuesday, June 25  between 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. and covers the area north of Interstate 2 to 2 Mile Line and east of Abram Road to La Homa Road.

Zone 1 will be sprayed on Wednesday, June 26 between 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. and covers the area South of Interstate 2 to Mile 1 South, east of Showers to Greene Road, including Acevedo Lane and Carlos Circle.

Zone 2 will be sprayed on Thursday, June 27 between 9 p.m. and 12 a.m. and the area includes South of Interstate 2 to London Ave, east of Greene Road to Scott Lane, & Moorefield Road within city limits, and also North of Interstate 2 to 2 Mile Line, and, east of La Homa Road to Breyfogle Road.

The spray only kills adult mosquitoes that it comes in contact with.  We remind you that you can help by ensuring there is no standing water in your yards because mosquitoes can breed in as little as one drop of water.   Start by turning over standing water such as pet bowls, flowerpots, tires, and anything else that can hold even a tiny drop of water.

In addition, cutting the grass also helps because mosquitoes use tall grass to hide.
