PALMVIEW, Texas- Members of the Palmview Municipal Development District (PMDD) recently joined Rio Grande Valley EDCs from Mission, Peñitas, McAllen, San Juan, Edinburg, Pharr, Harlingen, Weslaco, and Rio Grande City at the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Conference where they met with numerous commercial and retail developers.

The ICSC is the largest gathering meant to bring EDCs together with companies and developers.

PMDD President Espie Ochoa says this conference is an opportunity to meet face-to-face with companies looking for locations where they can expand. “It’s a chance for us to advocate for our communities by showing them our city and convincing them that Palmview is the ideal place for their next location.”

As a result of the connections made through the ICSC Conference, the PMDD is excited to reveal that several announcements will be made very soon regarding new businesses that will soon call Palmview home and will create dozens of new jobs.

Ochoa says that because of the city’s recent population explosion (17,050) this is the right time to invest in Palmview. “The daily traffic count on Interstate 2 is 62,188 along our 2.89-mile stretch of highway.  We also have a capable workforce ready to begin new careers. So, I can confidently say this is a win for businesses and a win for our residents.”

The new businesses coming to Palmview represent the retail, commercial, and healthcare industries.  Stay tuned, announcements and groundbreakings are coming soon!
