PALMVIEW, Texas –This week, the Palmview Fire Department received a $2500 donation from Electric Transmission Texas (ETT). ETT is a joint venture between affiliates of American Electric Power (AEP) and the Berkshire Hathaway Energy Company.
Together they obtain, construct, own, and operate transmission facilities within the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), mainly in the AEP Texas service territory that encompasses all of the Rio Grande Valley.
ETT’s Eddie Pallarez and AEP’s Lee Jones stopped by Palmview City Hall recently to present the Fire Department with the check.
Pallarez said that ETT believes fire departments provide an invaluable service to local communities, as well as the electric utility industry. The donation he said is a small show of support for first responders. Adding that the goal of this donation program is to help fire departments with related services and or equipment.
Palmview City Manager Michael Leo and Fire Chief Jerry Alaniz were both on hand to receive the donation and thanked ETT and AEP for their support.
