PALMVIEW, Texas- Palmview Mayor Pro-Tem Alexandra Flores today issued a disaster declaration in response to the severe storm that hit our area in the early morning hours of April 29.
Much of the city was impacted by the straight-line winds that exceeded 80 miles per hour. The City’s Public Works crews worked overnight to clear fallen trees from roadways and much work still needs to be done.
The declaration opens the way for state and federal aid should it be made available.
The City of Palmview is asking residents to take pictures of their damage and put all brush/debris in the usual brush pickup location on the curb.
The city is working on an emergency response plan for brush/debris pickup or drop-off. We will announce it as soon as it is finalized.
Meantime, the Texas Division of Emergency Management local office has set up a site to report home and business damage. https://damage.tdem.texas.gov/.
