PALMVIEW, Texas-More than 1200 registered voters participated in the City of Palmview Municipal General Election of May 4 to select Council Members for Place No. 1 and Place No. 3.
The unofficial results are as follows. There were three candidates for Council Member Place No. 1. The incumbent, Javier Ramirez received 538 votes, Esequiel “Zeke” Ortiz, Jr. received 431 votes, and Maria Cristina Alanis received 235 votes.
None of the three candidates received the required 50 +1 % of the vote so a run-off election will be needed to decide a winner.

In the race for Council Member Place No. 3, the incumbent, Alexandra Flores received 747 votes while challenger Eric Sanchez received 451 votes.

The votes will be canvassed on May 15 to make the results official. Swearing-In for Alexandra Flores, the Candidate Elect for Place No. 3 will occur immediately following.
Meantime, the run-off election will be held on June 15 with early voting scheduled for June 3-11 to decide a winner between the top two vote-getters, Javier Ramirez and Esequiel “Zeke” Ortiz, Jr. for Council Member Place No.1.
