PALMVIEW, Texas-The Palmview City Council held a special meeting on June 25 to canvass the votes of the June 15, 2024, Run-off Election between incumbent Javier Ramirez and challenger Esequiel “Zeke” Ortiz, Jr.
The count required by law officially declares Javier Ramirez the winner in the run-off for the Place 1 council seat. He received 372 votes compared to Ortiz who received 307 votes.
Surrounded by family and friends, he was sworn in for a third term on the City Council. Voters first elected him in 2016 and re-elected in 2020.
Council Member Ramirez thanked the community for allowing him to continue to advocate for their needs on the City Council saying he is committed to doing what is right for everyone in Palmview whether they voted for him or not and will not waiver from that commitment.
