9.11 Commemorative Ceremony

PALMVIEW, Texas- It’s been 23 since the September 11 terrorist attacks. The horror of that day can never be forgotten. That’s why the City of Palmview is holding a ceremony to remember and honor the thousands of lives lost on that 2001 day.

The terrorist attacks using airplanes claimed the lives of 2,977 people in New York, the Pentagon, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania—the victims- were civilians and first responders.

The City of Palmview will hold a ceremony to remember the victims, analyze the security changes in America since that day, and provide a special blessing for first responders by Father Roy Snipes O.M.I.

The ceremony will start at 8:30 a.m. and will include a bagpipe tribute at 8:46 a.m. to mark the start of the attacks as the first plane hit the first Twin Tower in New York City.

The ceremony will be at Palmview City Hall on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.  The public as well as first responders are invited to attend.
