Palmview to Hold Swearing In Ceremony for Place 3 Council Member Elect on May 15

PALMVIEW, Texas- The May 4, 2024, Municipal General Election votes will be canvassed on May 15. Council Member Place 3 had a presumptive winner of the two races on the ballot, while the Council Member Place 1 race will head to a run-off election.

For Place 3, Alexandra Flores received 747 votes to Eric Sanchez’s 451 votes. This will be Flores’ second term. She was first elected in 2020.

Council Member-Elect Flores will be sworn in during a special meeting of the Palmview City Council on May 15 at City Hall at 5:30 p.m.

In District 1, voters will head back to the polls in June to decide a winner between the top two vote-getters, Javier Ramirez with 538 votes and Esequiel “Zeke” Ortiz, Jr. who received 431 votes. The third candidate, Maria Cristina Alanis received 235 votes.

More than 1,200 registered voters participated in the City Election for Council Members Place 1 and 3.

The Run-Off Election for Council Member Place 1 has been called for June 15, 2024, to determine the winner since none of the candidates received a simple majority of votes. Early voting is scheduled for June 3-11. All Palmview residents registered to vote can participate in this run-off election.
