The City of Palmview Public Works Department is responsible for managing, operating, and maintaining the infrastructure found in the City's right-of-way, including streets, alleys, parking lots, bridges, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, traffic signals, traffic signage, street striping, curb painting, storm drain system, streetlights, street sweeping, graffiti removal, landscapes, and tree trimming. The Public Works Department is also responsible for general management operation and care of City facilities as well as maintenance and repair of the City's vehicle fleet and equipment.
The City of Palmview Public Works Department consists of the Public Works Administration, Street Maintenance Department, Storm Water Maintenance & all City Facilities. The Street Maintenance Department is responsible for all ROW (right of way’s) and roadway maintenance, sidewalks, signage & basic upkeep of the overall maintenance of the city. Storm Water Maintenance is responsible for maintaining and operating City storm water system/drainage systems located within the public right-of-way/easements and city owned properties. A large portion of our local drainage is connected to a larger system owned and maintained by the Hidalgo County Drainage District No. 1.
